During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Uniting is seeking a personable volunteer with a shared interest in politics, travel or gardening to support Amy to achieve her social goals. You'll have the ability to creatively reconnect Amy to her interests and passions, including sewing and knitting. Practical communication skills and a willingness to share both home and community-based visits is essential. Your own vehicle will be required to transport Amy* on community-based outings.

Be open to providing weekly/fortnightly visits on Tuesdays and accompanying Amy to a Uniting lunch group that takes place on the 4th Tuesday of every month at various venues in the Casey/Cardinia area. Valid driver’s licence necessary. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Amy and enable her to stay connected to the community. **Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote MS-S-11.
