SVP Melbourne’s focus is to support the growth and development of organisations that help disadvantaged young people to learn, grow, and succeed in both work and life. We are a group of current or former executives, directors, coaches, or rising stars who apply their combined skills and resources to Victorian not-for-profits.

What is engaged philanthropy?

Many of us choose to donate a certain amount of our income or assets back to society. We do this for various reasons that are personal to us. But many of us have more value to offer than cash only: we have skills + time. This is what SVP does by pooling and donating our funds - but we then also consult, coach, and mentor these organisations across a wide range of functions. At times, we even sit on their boards. We call this 'engaged philanthropy'.

What we’re looking for:

• Skilled professional consultants in any field including but not limited to Finance, IT, Marketing/Comms, HR/P&C, Strategy, Engineering, Fundraising, Business development, Governance.
• Perhaps you have already enjoyed a successful career and are seeking to give back meaningfully; or
• Perhaps you are transitioning careers and seeking intellectual stimulation whilst doing good; or
• Perhaps you are seeking an NFP board role and want some meaningful experience in the sector to build a robust resumé?
