Community Visitor
Office Of the Public AdvocateCommunity Visitors are the eyes and ears of the community and perform an important role of upholding the human rights of people with a cognitive disability and/or mental illness who are living or residing in supported care.
They monitor and report on the adequacy of services being provided to residents/patients.
Community Visitors also talk to residents to identify issues of concern and write a brief report at the conclusion of the visit.
Community Visitors visit in pairs and visit facilities within their area.
Qualification/skills required:
- Good interpersonal skills.
- The ability to contribute to a written report detailing the findings of the visit.
- Good teamwork skills.
