The program
Youth In Detention Activities (YIDA) is a program that supports Young People 10 - 17 years of age at Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre. Red Cross volunteers facilitate sessions such as cooking, sports, art & music to engage Young People in positive social interactions.
The opportunity
This role suits someone over the age of 18 who is reliable, engaging and is able to hold conversations with Young People whilst remaining neutral and impartial within a Justice environment.
The impact
This program aims to increase the confidence, self esteem and positive relationships of Young People in the Youth Detention Centre. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
