Fishability is seeking a Program Coordinator to plan and organise Fishability activities at the Bunbury Outer Harbour Fishing Platform and lead and work with a dedicated group of like-minded Fishability volunteers in helping people with disabilities experience the fun of fishing. Responsibilities as the Program Coordinator will be to: • Plan and organise volunteer rosters before each fishing season, and during the season as required; you will determine the days to be fished based on volunteer availability, and seasonal conditions. We ususally have a 6-7 week break over summer, and a 10-12 week winter break. • Preparation beforehand (organising trailers, bait, equipment etc) and coordination on the day of each fishing activity. • Attend meetings, training and functions as required (a couple of times per year) with the other Fishability Coordintors from Albany, Busselton, Mandurah, Perth and Geraldton; We currently have 2 female and 5 male program coordinators who all do a wonderful job! • Promote and enhance the Fishability Program in the region with support from Fishability's Executive Officer and Development Officer.

At fishing activities you and your team will assist people with disabilities by: • Giving practical assistance to participants - setting up fishing gear, baiting and casting a line, and catch care; • Showing an awareness of current rules and regulations regarding recreational fishing; • Developing relationships with participants to enhance their self-esteem, life skills, awareness of the environment and experience a quality outdoor activity;
