Home Library Service volunteers support the Kwinana Library by assisting borrowers who are unable to visit the local library due to illness, disability or limited mobility. Working within the library, and accompanying a library staff member in council vehicle to conduct deliveries. Under direct supervision of library staff. Home Library Service volunteers play an important role by: delivering and collecting items and returning them to the library.

Home Library Service volunteers need to have good communication skills and enjoy social interaction. Have empathy for people with a disability, the aged, infirmed and people with an illness. Be willing to work collaboratively with and take direction from Library staff. Have integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality, be reliable, have the physical fitness and ability to undertake safe light manual handling practices. Be available to work approximately three (3) hours per delivery period. Ability to work within Library policy and guidelines.
