The Women's Group has been running for many years. Currently, for 2 weeks every month, 2 volunteers do a sewing or creative activity with the women. The Centre has a number of sewing machines. The other 2 weeks are usually whatever we can think of to do.
The women then chat and eat lunch together. At the moment there are about 15 -25 women, a number of Afghani women and Vietnamese women but new members are referred regularly. Activities need to be able to be demonstrated however some translation can occur through MA worker or women who have a bit more English.
The Women's Group is not specifically funded so there are limited funds available for materials but these could be sourced if required. You would be required to come up with an activity once a month and support the women to undertake it. Then stay and connect and eat with the women. It would be good if you could potentially come more often in order to connect with the women.
