The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Louise Multicultural Community Centre.

Are you a retired teacher or ESL trained tutor? We are looking for volunteers to teach or tutor migrants basic English skills (including conversation).

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Prepare material for the class
• Teach or tutor migrants basic English skills (including conversation)
• Maintain basic student records
• Attend training and tutor meetings

Skills and Experience:

• ESL trained tutor, someone who has experience in tutoring or training, ex-teachers, retirees
• A passion to teach and help other to improve a language
• Ability to communicate with good English

Induction and Training:

• A minimum of 3 Sit-in / observation of classes in action
• Meet with Tutors' Representative for one on one discussion on material
• Regular tutors' training and discussion in groups
