Mentor/Tutor for refugee/migrant children - Joondalup
Mercy Connect WAVolunteers are needed to offer care and support to refugee children at their schools. Refugee children often feel isolated and anxious and subsequently withdraw from classroom participation. A caring and supportive volunteer, who is willing to build a trusting relationship, can make the world of difference by assisting a child, or small group of children, to tackle classroom tasks and therefore build confidence and self esteem. Volunteers are assigned to a primary or secondary school, depending on their preference, and are expected to attend for three hours per week, during school hours, for the school year.
