Your volunteered time is crucial and we are beyond grateful should you choose to accept your mission and volunteer with Cahoots at telethon Community Cinemas.

The information below is to ensure that you fully understand your role, rights and responsibilities and that patrons are provided with the best possible services. You have an important role in the outdoor cinema at the Burswood/Bassendean/Murdoch/Joondalup venue.

LENGTH OF VOLUNTEERING Subject to the satisfactory completion of the orientation process, is for the 2018 Season of Telethon Community Cinemas, commencing on 28th November 2019 and concluding 18th April 2020.

HOURS OF WORK The normal hours of work will be as stipulated on the Telethon Community Cinemas roster as circulated by the Volunteer Coordinator however a normal shift will run from 5:45 pm to 10:15 pm but there will be special screenings that will have alternate shift requirements. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to 10 shifts throughout the season.

The volunteer is responsible to ensure their attendance at shifts. Should circumstances arise to prevent your attendance you are responsible to notify your Volunteer Coordinator immediately.

Shifts conclude after the screening when the auditorium has been packed away, and the Night Manager has approved your departure.

INSURANCE Volunteers are covered by Telethon Community Cinema's Volunteer Accident Insurance.

DRESS CODE Volunteers must wear neat, clean clothes appropriate to the type of work and not offensive to the patrons. Flat, covered in, comfortable shoes are required. Occupational Health and Safety regulations prevent the wearing of open thongs/flip flops or similar footwear. Volunteers found breaching the Code of Dress will be sent home immediately. A volunteer vest is to be worn over your top.

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING Volunteers may approach the Volunteer Coordinator or Night Manager at any time to discuss an issue.

Volunteers will receive the training and ongoing support during their shift, in order to successfully undertake their work.

Like most things Telethon Community Cinemas comes with its own ‘how to do it’ manual and training videos which explains procedures and the event guidelines. The manual is a work in progress, so it may change during the season and you will have access to them at all times.

DUTIES The volunteer shall carry out their duties as outlined by the Night Manager or Volunteer Coordinator. Should you wish to work behind the bar or serve alcohol please apply for a Responsible Service Of Alcohol certificate if you have not already done so. $18 On-Line RSA Certificate that does not expire
