DonateDirect has a role for two volunteer Donation Coordinators to help manage the donations listed on our online platform and help coordinate their distribution to our community partners who have clients in need.

Do you want to have a role in helping the underprivileged and those experiencing homelessness and financial hardship? Do you have good computer skills and an interest in helping get donations to people in need? This may be the volunteer role for you.

DonateDirect provides a Donations App/IT website where donors (members of the community) can offer pre-loved items and they go directly to people in need, improving the quality of life of homeless or financially struggling individuals and also reducing the burden of waste on our environment.

Donation coordinators have the role of managing the Donations App, ensuring that donations of material aid are properly matched to people in need, and communicating with charities and other community organisations who require these donations for their clients in need.

As a Donation Coordinator key duties would include:

  • managing the Donations App, ensuring that donations of material aid are properly matched to people in need
  • communicating with charities and other community organisations who require these donations for their clients in need.
  • Onboarding and registering new Community Organisations users of DonateDirect
  • Responding to general email enquiries from Donors and Community Organisations.
  • Responding to a variety of emails that include questions about donating through DonateDirect;
  • Managing inventories spreadsheets;

Key skills required

  • Good admin skills and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of spreadsheets (google, excel, etc) to manage data
  • Ability to use shared email systems
  • Good IT knowledge (eg., ability to use back ends of websites
  • Ability to work with mail merge / CRM programs.
  • Prior experience working for a not for profit organisation would be an advantage.

As a volunteer you would have the experience of being a part of a growing organisation and have the satisfaction of assisting people in need to obtain essential household items, and in turn improving their wellbeing and quality of life.
