Kitchen Volunteer - Cook - Volunteering Macarthur
SVDP Nagle CentreDuties & Responsibilities:
- Completion of satisfactory National Police History and Working with Children Check
- Sign in/out on attendance register
- Be available for a shift of either 4 hours in the evening or 4 to 6 hours in the daytime
- Set up equipment for the day
- Food preparation
- Cooking
- Dishwashing and other cleaning as required
- Counter service to visitors
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of dining room
- Assist staff with functions and events held at the centre
- Work within the Nagle Centre guidelines
- Compliance to Food Safety Standards and Work, Health & Safety regulations
- Attend volunteer meetings
- Attend relevant training as required by Team Leader and/or Kitchen Coordinator
Skills Required:
- Ability to prepare and cook in large volumes
- Ability to relate well to visitors, volunteers and staff
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability and willingness to follow directions
- Willingness to support staff as requested
- Ability to assist with or present activities as directed
- Reliability as a team member
- Understanding of the importance of Food Safety and willingness to comply at all times
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and the volunteer’s role in compliance
