Safe Pets Safe Families are looking for a Volunteer Foster Care Coordinator.

Within this role the Volunteer will be first point of contact for all fosters within the Safe Pets Safe Families organisation.

The Volunteer will liaise with the Case Manager Coordinator & Case Managers to arrange suitable care for each animal that comes into the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and meeting with the Resident Counselor on a regular basis.

Responsibilities: • Processing and on-boarding new foster carer applicants including contacting referees, organising yard checks, updating the foster database and providing the relevant resources and training. • Recruiting of new foster carers to the group • Contacting existing foster carers that have not been active for some time to see if they would still like to be on our database and obtain feedback on how we can improve • Maintaining private Foster Carer groups including posting positive stories, welcomes, thank you posts • Assisting carers to resolve any difficulties or concerns they have with fostering or the group in general • Maintaining foster care database, updating with any relevant info about pets in the home, changes in circumstances or address, or information about any incidents with foster animals (i.e; after an incident it has been confirmed that resident dog does not like female dogs) • Providing regular reports to the CEO (weekly) and the Board (monthly) or as requested • Assisting with ongoing training of foster carers as required, including sharing process updates • Assisting the Volunteer Coordinator with on-boarding new volunteers in peak times or if they are on personal leave.
