Be My Friend: Community Visitors Scheme (Lifeline WA)
Lifeline WAProvide meaningful friendship and companionship by being suitably matched to a client. Visits can be spent doing something you both enjoy such as chatting, watching a film, or perhaps going for a walk. Fancy an outing? Why not!
Duties: • Visit at least once a fortnight • Increasing elderly person’s involvement in social activities and community affairs • Provide assistance with small tasks that might be done by a friend or neighbour such as posting a letter. • Provide a record of the dates of visits to the Coordinator • Respect the rights of the elderly person including confidentiality and privacy • Exercise a duty of care at all times A range of locations have clients needing your companionship. A flu vaccine is required and you may be required to have a Covid vaccination depending upon the clients situation.
