Community Visitor Volunteer - Northern Suburbs
Northern HealthNorthern Health is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program known as the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). Our volunteers play a vital role in the lives of people living in aged care homes through ongoing friendship. Volunteer visitors make a difference by sharing stories; going for strolls or outings or simply having a cup of tea or coffee. They may also listen to music, read books, watch movies or play games.
To become a community visitor you would need to be warm, caring, friendly and reliable. You also need to be willing and able to commit to at least 1 visit per fortnight, for a minimum of 12 months. The minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. Good English communication skills are required however volunteers with other languages, willing to be matched to residents who share the same language, are strongly encouraged to enquire.
We are particularly looking for volunteer visitors that speak Italian, Greek, Macedonian, Spanish, Croatian and Sinhala and Tamil.
