Kennels - Dog Walking
RSPCA ACTRSPCA ACT house up to 50 dogs and puppies at any given time, with the majority of the dogs coming in through our Inspectorate. Dog walkers provide dogs with stimulation and exercise, which is crucial for the dogs’ physical and mental well-being.
Applicants for dog walking roles should have experience walking dogs of all sizes, with a specific focus on large dogs with limited training.
We are looking for people who have the following skills and qualities:
• Experience with dogs • The ability to handle large boisterous dogs • A fitness level that allows for two hours of walking • A commitment to positive reinforcement training methods
We provide induction and orientation training, as well as practical hands on training sessions prior to you being able to take dogs out for walks on your own.
