Beyond Blindness is looking for an active outgoing mature person, who has excellent organisational skills and would be responsible for organising a group or groups to visits places of interest with our members for two to four nights.

The trips could be anywhere within South Australia. Boarding and lodging is free of cost. We are looking for any drivers and female volunteers who would like to help on away trips. Volunteer duties while on the trip are varied. Sight guiding, helping the members in the cabins by orientating them with the layout, where everything is and how it works. While we are out and about volunteer duties include sight guiding, helping with entering and leaving the buses, aiding with food ordering, making sure all Members have their meals first, and keeping members informed by describing unknown businesses or sightseeing destinations. Helping with meals – usually breakfast and at least one evening meal. This could include assisting with cooking, serving, or cleaning up after the meal. What is needed most is initiative – To see something needs to be done and do it or notice someone needs a hand and give assistance. Yes, it is hard work but also lots of fun and very rewarding. Trips can be three-night or four-night stays. We travel in the Beyond Blindness buses and usually stay in cabins at caravan parks. A volunteer is allocated to cabins to help the members. Volunteers do not have to help with any personal care or medications. If a member needs any aid with those duties, they bring their own carer. Accommodation, lunches, and dinners are provided.

This person would head up a small team of volunteers.

DCSI clearances for Disability Sector and Aged Sector are required.
