Group61 Volunteer Area Coordinators
Marcus MissionGroup61 is a befriending program that matches Friends (socially isolated people with a lived experience of mental illness) with Volunteers. Volunteers and Friends meet regularly to go on outings that could include a walk in the local park, down the road for a coffee or maybe jumping on the train and heading to the beach. The program is active across South East QLD with an Area Coordinator based in each active region. The Area Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to manage and support the Volunteers and Friends in their region and promote the program across their region.
Responsibilities include: • Interview Volunteers and Friends • Deliver training to Volunteers • Matching Friends with Volunteers • Offer and maintain support (when necessary) to Volunteers via phone • Host regular group catch up with all Volunteers in their region • Provide a monthly report on region to the Group61 Program Coordinator • Attend some of the Group61 social events • Promote the Program across your region
Please send through your expression of interest and we will contact you with further information.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Group61 is an initiative of Wesley Mission Queensland. Volunteers will require a Yellow Card "Working with People With Disabilities" check (WMQ will support you to apply for this).
