About this Opportunity

The Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra (MCCI) is seeking bus drivers to provide transport services to transport clients to and from social support groups. If you would like to contribute to improving the lives of people within the community, enjoy driving a small bus and would like to volunteer, we would greatly appreciate your support.

This position involves driving our bus to pick up clients, deliver them to the social support group venue and then return them home safely. If you want to contribute to a valuable community service and become a valuable member of a regular social meeting group, this is for you.

This opportunity would suit someone who is friendly and enjoys interacting with older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

About You

As the first point of contact for clients, you will possess:

• A current Class C driving licence and excellent driving record. • Ability to drive large groups, up to 12 people. • A commitment to providing a quality transport experience and to treat our elderly clients with dignity and respect. • An ability to relate and communicate with older people. • An understanding and commitment to following road safety rules, safety procedures, code of conduct and taking directions. • A history of being reliable and punctual. • A medical clearance prior to undertaking volunteer work. • A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain would be an asset.
