Kara House is a not for profit, specialist domestic and family violence service, part of the Victoria women’s refuge service system. We provide secure, safe accommodation and support to women and children experiencing family violence. Each year at Kara House we support hundreds of Victorian women and children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds with a range of programs including temporary refuge accommodation, transitional housing, and outreach support. Kara House is an Incorporated Association fully funded by the Department of Health and Human services (DHHS). Kara House has been improving the safety and wellbeing of women and their children in the eastern metropolitan region of Melbourne for more than 40 years.
