Deliver "more than just a meal" to residents. We would love you to join our Meals on Wheels team of volunteers who deliver meals to residents in their homes across the Mornington Peninsula on weekday mornings between 9.30am - 11.30am. Along with delivering meals this service is an opportunity for volunteers to find purpose and connect with members of their community. The Meals on Wheels service has been operating for almost 50 years on the Peninsula and continues to provide a personal touch so that our clients feel respected and cared for. We currently require drivers for "rounds" in Hastings and Rosebud. Volunteer on a weekly or fortnightly basis or be trained and on standby for time when our "regulars" are unavailable. You will need to have a Covid vaccination certificate, your own reliable fully insured car, current drivers' licence and complete a Police and Working with Children checks. You will be required to adhere to all Shire's policies and procedures as relevant to this position and monitor client's wellbeing and report any concerns to Coordinator. Following checks and training, you will then go through an induction process which involves joining an experienced volunteer on a "round" or two prior to heading out on your own. If you prefer to travel together with a friend, then encourage them to sign up to and enjoy this experience together.
