SCYS is a not-for-profit youth service that have been operating in Midland for 41 years with the main goal of providing a holistic service for young people aged twelve to twenty-five who are struggling to break the cycle of poverty, disadvantage and alienation. Many of the young people that attend the service are at some form of risk, whether it be, dropping out of school, being homeless, suffering from past trauma or subjected to domestic violence and intergenerational trauma. The service provides support with skilled youth workers via, one on one counselling to education programs to court support and advocacy on behalf of many that don’t have a voice. Staff are there to walk alongside young people in hope of giving them a better future.
