Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) provides services to protect and promote the rights, interests and dignity of people with disability (specifically intellectual impairment, mental illness, brain injury or dementia) living in Victoria. The OPA Community Visitors Program uses volunteers to visit people with a cognitive disability and assess the quality of life. The Independent Third Person program uses volunteers to assist people with a disability whilst they are interviewed by police.
