Twin Rivers Lions Club Inc, chartered in June, 2019 has a membership of 19 plus volunteers. Our focus is encouraging social inclusion as well as encouraging environmental sustainable practices. Many of our club's activities and fundraising efforts are centred around encouraging environmental sustainability practices. Here is a snap shot of our current projects. Project 1: Salvaging UNWANTED materials through social media "call outs"; these are sorted and made into beautiful products that we sell (fundraising) at local POP UP Stalls in the local community. Project 2: Social Inclusion - Volunteers who enjoy - sewing (hand sewing & machine sewing), knitting & crochet along with a host of other craft making over a cuppa each Tuesday. Project 3: One of our club's other major project is fundraising for the building of a Twin Rivers Men's Shed/Community Hub in Johnsonville. Our club has raised over $3,000 in less than 12 months towards this project through a variety of initiatives. Project 4: Twin Rivers Lions Market - new monthly community market at Johnsonville (Make - Bake - Grow - Upcycle - Recycle) is held on the first Saturday each month 8am - 12.30pm. Around 25 - 30 traders and it's a great country family morning for everyone. Proceeds from our Lions Club's activities going towards local community projects. Project 5: inaugural TWIN RIVERS LIONS VIRTUAL ART SHOW October, 2020. Originally the physical Art Show was going to be held in March 2020 but due to 2019-2020 East Gippsland Bushfires and then COVID-19 this event was cancelled and a VIRTUAL EVENT was decided to ensure artists in the community had something to work towards during the isolation period.
