At Autism West, we provide unique opportunities for young people on the autism spectrum to gain skills and experience, enabling them to connect successfully with others and the world around them. As a local disability service provider, we run a variety of social groups for 10-30 year old. These include Awesome Group for ages 10-15, YES Group for ages 13-18, Step into Social for ages 18-30, and special interest programs such as Coding, Music and Visual Arts. We also run the successful Telethon Holiday Makers Program every school holiday period for ages 5-18. Our partnership with Curtin and Deakin Universities resulted in the ground-breaking autism therapy app called TOBY (Therapy Outcomes By You), an early intervention app designed to teach parents how to easily embed autism therapy into their daily routine. The play based activities are aimed at 2-4 year old children with autism. TOBY is now managed by Deakin University. We also coordinate events such as the annual Autism West Symposium, the must-see event for individuals on the autism spectrum, their family members, health professionals, educators, service providers and researchers. Autism West is a registered NDIS provider.
