Pinjarra Senior High School has a long and successful history in our community. An enormous number of young people have been educated at the school since its opening in 1921. Our mission is to ensure the academic progress and personal growth of every student at our school.Pinjarra Senior High School is a member of the Murray Waroona Schools Network which allows us, in conjunction with our partner schools, to deliver quality education opportunities across Kindergarten to Year 12. Benefits of our network membership include increased exposure to specialist teachers and resources, effective transition across the phases of schooling, an excellent range of programs and opportunities for students, and teacher consultation and collaboration about the best ways of providing for local students. Most importantly the Network gives students access to quality secondary education and training opportunities at Pinjarra Senior High School and Waroona District High School. One of the school’s features is the excellent support it receives from local people, businesses and our parent community. An active School Board provides guidance and practical support for many programs. The Pinjarra SHS staff members have a clear focus on providing pastoral care for our students. Housed in a heritage cottage on the school grounds, the Student Services Team runs specific programs and ensures our students’ pastoral and learning needs are attended to as well as possible. The school is well resourced and an extensive building and renovation program has provided a Senior Learning Centre, the complete refurbishment of the Science Department, new amenities and upgraded middle school classrooms. Our Trade Training Centre specialising in Metals Engineering was completed in 2013. The new state of the art Technology and Enterprise rooms were completed during 2013 at a cost of $7m. It provides students with a wonderful opportunity to develop skills and experience in these areas. It includes specific Foods, Textiles, Woodwork, Metalwork and Automotive rooms and equipment.
