Legacy is seeking a volunteer to help sustain and grow our services. We are seeking a person who is passionate about the work Legacy does, flexible and energetic with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You will be maintaining our existing marketing channels and opening up new streams and developing new material. Promoting Legacy to sponsors, coordinating and assisting with Events. We envisage you will have previous experience or a recent graduate within relevant studies.
With a strong focus on advising, guiding and helping widows and widowers of veterans, you will be establishing a personal relationship with the people you visit. Legacy provides services and information on combating social isolation, living at home with dignity, and health and security. The successful volunteer will have excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, reliability and have a positive attitude. You must be able to commit 1-2 hours per week, long-term.
An ongoing opportunity to take part in the organisation and delivery of one of the largest unticketed events held annually in Brisbane on the 25th of April. You can be a part of the support to one of Queensland’s most significant social and cultural events. Specific roles include Parade Marshals, Information Booth Officers, Golf Buggy Drivers, Veteran Hosts and Passenger Loading Assistants.
