We are seeking compassionate and reliable volunteers in the vicinity of BRIDGEWATER, TAS for our Community Visitors Scheme - whereby lonely seniors receive regular visits to their homes by volunteers for a cup of tea and a chat for half an hour a week or one hour a fortnight.
Working in a group and with other staff members you will assist participating residents with seating in appropriate positions on the bus and in other venues in the community they may visit. You will assist in ensuring the residents safety at all times and follow the direction of the staff on the day.

Do you enjoy craft work, knitting or sewing, art? Enjoy talking with and sharing with older people?
Craft or Knitting or Sewing or Art Volunteers - Working with other staff members you will assist participating residents to craft items of interest to them - e.g. scarves, blanket squares, cushion covers or maybe sewing on a button, tapestry or painting. (D)
Would you like to read the newspapers/books or teach a resident about their computer and Ipad? Play cards or board games or just taking a walk? Working alone, in a group and/or with other staff members you will assist participating residents with reading or read to them articles from the newspaper, magazines or books. You may assist a resident with their computer/Ipad or you may like to take the resident for a walk and/or reminisce with them about their life stories. (D)
Do you enjoy talking with and sharing with older people? Do you like to pamper people - making them feel better within themselves and their personal presentation? Do you like to paint nails and put on make up or maybe make their hair look great? If yes - we would like to hear from you! (D)
In this role you will help an elderly person who is experiencing social isolation overcome their loneliness and improve their wellbeing through the simple act of spending time with them.
Do you enjoy talking with and sharing with older people? Do you play an instrument or are you a member of a musical group or just like to sing along with some music? If yes - we would like to hear from you or your group! Working alone, in a group or with other staff members you will assist participating residents with their sing-a-long activities and entertainment. (D)
To transport clients and their carers, to and from medical and social appointments
To visit a client in their own home to have a cuppa and a chat, go for a walk, read to or other support directed by coordinator
Do you enjoy talking and sharing with older people? Would you like to adopt a Grandmother or Grandfather to share experiences and laughter with or maybe some words of wisdom - if so - we would like to hear from you! Maybe you have a Nan or Pop living away from you or not with you anymore? Adopting a grandparent can be rewarding and enriching not only for your adopted grandparent's life but you and your family as well. You may like to take your grandparent out to lunch, for a drive. (D)
