A Museum Guide/Assistant is required to help visitors experience the history of Townsville at the Townsville Museum. Volunteers at the Museum assist in a variety of ways from front of house reception, warmly greeting visitors to the museum through to interesting behind the scenes duties as well as guiding people through the Museum, educating and connecting visitors to Townsville history and heritage. Museum opening times are weekdays 9.00am to 2.30pm and we are looking for help Wed/Thurs/Fri.
St Andrew's Church archives contain catalogued collections of historical documents, objects and photographs. Details of the valuable works of art in the Saint Andrew’s permanent art collection, ecclesiastical furniture, furnishings, stained glass windows and a large collection of Scottish communion tokens are also documented. You will have the opportunity to help maintain archives of historic importance in the State of Queensland and the Uniting Church in Australia.
Undertake guided tours of the Museum as necessary. Undertake Gallery Attendant duties in allocated gallery, as per roster. Meet and greet, and interact with members of the public. Mayes Cottage House Museum offers a rare opportunity to experience a unique part of the City of Logan’s heritage. The museum includes the remains of the original slab hut (1873), the lovingly preserved house (1887) and beautiful tranquil gardens. Mayes Cottage needs volunteers who are to commit to being reliable, scheduling shifts on a regular basis. Prepare small museum for Open Day and assist curators. Job includes sweeping, dusting, general tidy up. If interested, could also attend Open Day on the occasional Sundays to tidy up in preparation for visitors and meet and freet visitors. Also assist with projects as they occur. Bankfoot House is a heritage-listed homestead at Glass House Mountains, Sunshine Coast. It was built in 1878 and added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 2008. The Visitor Experience Volunteer's role is to provide high quality customer service and experience to Bankfoot House visitors. The Ipswich Historical Society is seeking volunteers who are keen to work with school students in small groups at Cooneana Heritage Centre, New Chum. The Society provides a number of hands-on activities for primary students visiting from their schools. Volunteers set up their stations prior to the students arrival, meet the students when they arrive then take their first group of approximately six students to their station.

We require someone to help maintain the Museum environs and contents. The Landsborough Museum is the business entity of the Landsborough District Historical Society, which was formed in 1973. "Our mission is to collect, research, conserve, interpret and exhibit the artifacts, memorabilia, documents, photographs and stories of indigenous and non-indigenous peoples whose heritage can be linked to that region."

Duties include: Food preparation, barista role, kitchen hand, providing information about the museum and the local area, answering telephone.
