Can you put a flat pack together in Hornsby? When we update our furniture or add new pieces our support workers sometimes have a go but it takes them away from what they do best.
Dignity houses homeless men, women, children and families every night in the Hornsby area. This means that we have laundry to wash every day: sheets, pillow slips, towels and tea towels. Can you help us for a couple of hours per week or per month, on a roster, to load the washing machines, load the dryers, unload, fold, and store our sheets, towels and pillow slips? Very close to public transport. Great people to work with!!
Help our Logistics and Distribution Team pack and deliver food and supplies to our crisis accommodation.
We are looking for volunteers OVER 16 years of age to help run our new mobile library service in Ultimo on Saturday afternoons, once a month. You will setup and operate our tea and coffee service, put out books and have conversations with our clients. If you love reading, meeting people and would like to make a difference to someone who may be socially isolated, this is for you!
The Footpath Library operates mobile library services that take food for the mind to people experiencing homelessness. Our Team Leaders take our van to the site in the city and supervise setup and running of the tea/coffee and library. We are the only free mobile library for people experiencing homelessness in Australia - if you love reading you will know the health benefits it brings!
You'll be welcomed into the supersized commercial kitchen. You'll get busy in the kitchen transforming rescued food into nutritious meals, that will be delivered to disadvantaged communities.
Domestic violence and homelessness are both at a substantially high number. Therefore, we have created our charity, to provide victims of both, a safe place to stay and a home to call their own. We will be converting out-of-service buses into self-sufficient homes with access to toilets, showers and somewhere to sleep. We are looking for volunteers to help in different areas of the project.
Please wait while we load up opportunities...
